Series 7 running hot

I've got ubuntu 12.04 running on my 14" i5 Samsung Series 7, and i've installed samsung-tools and samsung-laptop. No matter what setting i set the fan to however, (overclock, silent, normal) the cpu temperatures are significantly higher than those of windows. 55-58C in windows browsing around vs. 68-80C in linux. Any suggestions?
