Hi, actually, the two finger scroll works pretty much for me, but I have set:

$ synclient -l | grep TwoFinger
    EmulateTwoFingerMinZ    = 0
    EmulateTwoFingerMinW    = 7
    VertTwoFingerScroll     = 1
    HorizTwoFingerScroll    = 1

I use kubuntu 09.10 (karmic) with
2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
which is "2.6.31-14~ppa1~nc10~jaunty" from the voria repository
