Samsung N220 UNR 9.10 Brightness Control Not Working

Post by tariqkhokhar »

Hi All,

First post here - really pleased to have found this resource.

I've got a new Samsung N220, installed UNR 9.10 on it - everything I've tested is working now apart from the backlight.

More specifically, the key combination of Fn + UP or DOWN does not make the screen brighter or dimmer.

I've added the voria-ppa-karmic repository and installed what I think are the right samung packages:

Code: Select all

tariq@tk220:~$ sudo aptitude search samsung
i samsung-backlight - Backlight support for the latest kernel on Samsung n
i A samsung-backlight-2.6.31-19 - Backlight support for Samsung netbooks
i samsung-scripts - Scripts for Samsung netbooks
and as some other people have asked for similar queries, here is the output of:

Code: Select all

tariq@tk220:~$ lspci -nn
