Post here the output of the command:

Code: Select all

sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name
so I can add support for your model to packages for both karmic and lucid.

R519/R719 is already supported in the packages on the repository. If something does not work for you, try to perform a full system upgrade with this command:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
Then reboot to apply the changes.

PS: I assume you added the repository to your sources.list, am I right?

Hello,
I had the same problems (n210), but i figure out that it happens after my last kernel upgrade : 2.6.31.20 to 2.6.31.21.
So, i boot this morning on 2.6.31.20 and recover full fn+ functionnality.
Maybe you should try that.

The 'samsung-backlight' for kernel 2.6.31-21 (and fixed kernel 2.6.31-21 as well) has just been built and it's now available for installation from the repository. Update the system and everything should be fine.

Good day.
I have the same problem with the fn+up/fn+down keys. I've done everything as written in http://www.voria.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=296 but keys still do not change the brightness.

Code: Select all

bekapadla@ubuntu:~$ uname -a
Linux ubuntu 2.6.32-22-generic #37~ppa1~loms~lucid-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jun 4 20:01:26 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

Code: Select all

bekapadla@ubuntu:~$ sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name
[sudo] password for bekapadla:
R519/R719
Any ideas on how to get working that fn keys?

PS. Sorry for my bad English, i'm using Google Translator too =)

The problem with brightness keys is related to the NVIDIA video card, so i can't help in your case, I'm sorry. :(

Anyway, search on google for 'smartdimmer' and try with it.

Hello!
I updated Ubuntu Karmic Koala on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, installed a new version of your program, but works only lights, sound and webcam. I do all the instructions.
Prompt please.
Thanks in advance!

Make sure to remove the old 'samsung-scripts' package in case it's yet installed from the old karmic installation, and reinstall 'easy-slow-down-manager'.
