Backlight off on booting with Samsung Q310

Hi,

I've only found out about this project and I've already noticed great improvements with my laptop.

One last problem I'm having is that my backlight is off when Ubuntu boots (it has an Nvidia card). GRUB is fine, then after that the backlight goes off. I can just about see enough to log in and then have to tap fn+f5 a couple of times to turn the backlight on and then it's fine.

Also, every now and then, the backlight just goes off and I have to tap fn+f5 a couple of times to get it back.

Wondered if anyone could help with this?

I have same problem on my Samsung Q310. When it boots the brighness is just off. Did you manage to fix your problem ?

Actually I noticed that the brightness has a certain value after that the screen is off.

Let's say that I am reducing the brightness from 10. when I reach halfway then the screen is switching off and I have to increase a bit to see something.

In Windows I have a full control [IE the screen is always of for any level of brightness]

Probably this 2 problems are connected...
