The latest kernel is going to support all samsung note- and netbooks thanks to this patch:

The patch is supposed to end backlight brightness issues and to fix hotkeys for all samsung note- and netbooks. But noone knows when this driver will be available to end users. At least its not in the latest ubuntu mainline natty-rc-kernel afaik.
What about applying the patch to the voria-kernel? Would the «samsung-backlight»-driver be obsolete?
Good or bad idea?

Sorry for answering my own post. Maybe my post was useless because the voria-kernel already uses the same driver mentioned above (samsung-backlight). Can you confirm this?
