Testing needed for the new Samsung Tools 2.0

Hi Voria,

I tested the samsung tools 2.0 and samsung laptop on my NC110, Ubuntu 11.10 32bits

Fn-keys for:

a)Touchpad: ok

b)WLAN: ok

c)Brightness: The pop-up window appears, but the brightness of my screen doesn't change.

d)Fan-speed: ok

e)Mute: ok

f)Battery: ok

g)Backlight off/on: ok

h)standby : ok

I think i'm using samsung-tools 2.0 (i'm using samsung-tools-bzr 506-1 from aur) on a samsung rv520 with Chakra Linux

the only fn keys working are webcam wifi touchpad sound and sleep


before the "3 series" kernels (and with previous samsung tools)everything worked except brightness (i could switch off backlight tough)

Hay everyone, thanks to voria now my ubuntu 11.10 on Samsung NF208 works seamlessly like W7

Brightness Fn working
Mute Fn working
Screen off/on Fn working
wifi Fn also working > with samsung-laptop found at https://launchpad.net/~voria/+archive/archive/+packages

Hi !

I've tested the new Samsung tools 2.0 on my NC10 and I'm thankful to you for this great work.

The wifi : ok
Bluetooth : ok
Screen on/off : ok
Fan-speed : ok
Webcam : ok
Brightness : ok (It was not working when phc-intel was installed)
Mute : ok
Battery : ok
However the standby doesn't work : I can't wake up mon NC10 !


PS : I've installed samsung-tools samsung-wireless samsung-laptop and I'm using Voyager 11.10 (based on Xubuntu 11.10).
