Samsung has posted the 10CA BIOS now. There isn't any information about the changes, but they've been updating about once a month with a new version. The secret BIOS menu has been gone for awhile now. Several people on the other NC10 board (myself included) have upgraded to the 10CA version with no problems.
The BIOS and MICOM images can be easily extracted from the official Samsung updaters for windows.
The BIOS can be updated by using the official phoenix flasher for DOS (phlash16.exe).
The problem is the MICOM, which is updated using the 'WinUpV01_10.exe' utility in the official Samsung updater, but there is no DOS version of it (I had no luck searching for it on google).
If it were available, we could perform the update with no need to wait for an eventual DOS updater by Samsung.

That's why I did it with PartPE, so I could use the Windows Updater. Worked flawlessly for the BIOS and the MICOM, too. But kinda overkill... and you still need a Windows to build BartPE and then use that Windows you just made to update things... so not very "gentleman"
Just to let you know, some days ago I sent an email to Samsung, asking for syncronized updaters for windows and dos, explaining our situations as linux only users. The answer was a fast and probably automated: "we support winxp only".
What would be the additional cost for such a minimal support for a big company like Samsung, and what would be the gain in reputation they would get? I don't know.

I'm with 07CA yet, waiting for a DOS updater for the latest versions...
Exactly what I'm also waiting for albeit I did the last update with a BartPE stick... worked pretty well. But kinda overkill ^^
How did you manage to do this? I tried updating to BIOS version 10CA using BartPE, but the updater keeps complaining that "there is no installed battery or the remaining charge level of the battery is lower than 30%" although the battery is fully charged. Which Windows version are you using as BartPE basis (mine is based on WinXP SP3)?

There were some additional plugins I had to add... my first try without them failed as well. Afaik these plugins were XPE, Hwpnp and Infcachebuild. Hwpnp also had to be activated via the menu after booting.

I managed to do a full BIOS/MICOM update to version 10CA through DOS!
So, from now on we can perform the update to the latest version as soon as a new windows updater is released, even if we (proudly) wiped out the windows partition!
I'll open a new thread with all the needed files and the instructions on how to use them. Stay tuned!
