I have a NC10 with Mint Linux and I'm happy.
Yes, I immediately installed Mint on my netbook, just when i take it out of the box. It works amazing, compiz works too and all is really cool and easy.
There are some problems but we're here to make them gone, we play with Linux to solve them and we're at a small distance to make the NC10 fully supported by linux.
So i recommend a linux installation on your netbook, it's lightweight than Windows, runs faster and you have all you need to travel with your netbook.
