unable to use NB-30 backlight fn key

Post by 220-380 »

Howdy

I've been crawling through all the threads trying to find how the hell am i supposed to enable backlight function on a Samsung NB-30 (running Ubuntu 10.04). Decided to open a new one since I didn't manage to find a proper solution in the already existing ones.

I've installed samsung-tools and samsung backlight driver, and all the FN keys are working perfectly except the backlight one, all I get when trying to use it is a blackout. Do I have to use a specific kernel? I'm a newbie on Linux so I'm kinda of lost here.

Thanks in advance.

Holy shit, I feel retarded opening a new thread since everybody is talking about different ways to setup the backlight function

Found a way to change backlight using the lcpi method described here: http://www.voria.org/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 296&p=4390

So happy enough, but any chance to set up in a not-so-geek way? I mean with arrow keys : P
