Here is how I got both wireless switching and proper backlight control working:
1. I am using the kernel rtl wireless drivers, so no ndiswrapper etc. installation is needed.
2. Install samsung-tools, samsung-backlight and samsung-laptop from the PPA
3. Comment out the first line in /etc/modprobe.d/samsung-backlight.conf so that samsung-laptop is no longer blacklisted:
#blacklist samsung-laptop
4. reboot machine

I am unable to control the wireless on my Samsung NB30 netbook. I am always getting a popup "wireless control not available". I tried all combinations of Kernel rtl8192 module and ndiswrapper loaded windows driver with samsung-laptop or easy-slow-down-manager, but I am always getting the popup when pressing Fn F9.
All other Samsung controls work fine.
