Linux install

Post by gipsea »

Hi everyone,

I'm waiting for my samsung NC10 and I'm getting ready (at least I'm trying to) for my linux installation.

Is there any reason why most of the users work with linux mint?

I've downloaded mint V6 although I'm tempted from the 5 LTS (I'm quite lazy on further version updates). I'm using kubuntu on my home pc and ubuntu on laptop (I like to test different versions, that's why I'm wondering about linux mint)
Any suggestion regarding this matter?

Next big question Ihave is regarding HOW to install. The file I've downloaded is a .iso so I think it has to be written on a cd but how than proceed?!
How can I prepare and use an usb pen drive instead of a cd?!

Thanks for your help

ciao

Oh and i would not go with kubuntu 9.04 because there is no WPA2 support after a default install... you would have to use the networkmanager-applet from gnome which basically installs half of gnome anyways, so if you want to go 9.04 i would use ubuntu with gnome if i had to ^^
